The Old Days

The first nine weeks of learning has now come to an end. Everyday of our class seemed a step to closer to our goal. We learned more about the Internet. I already knew about it since "I can't remember". I learned more of how what I use every night came to be. From who mainly contributed to the discovery and improvement and seemingly increasing uses of the Internet to the ones who brought it to our country. "Blog", a word whose meaning was misty in my mind, was defogged by our teacher. She made us make our own blog account so as to be more active in this feature of the Internet.

ICT IV is very fun. But not all times were happy moments for us. Like any other being alive, we encountered problems too. Some were as easy as pie while some were too difficult to handle and overcome. Some of the problems that made me worry to the bone were the hard to memorize important dates and persons in the history of the Internet, since history is my water-loo. Another were the ones related to our computer. And these happen until now. Its the tiring waiting that is induced to us by our slow computers and also slow computer speed. Sometimes the signal of the connection was also fluctuating.

But I am strong willed person. I studied hard. I applied much of my effort to insert such information into my brain. And with the problem related to our computers and connection, it was given solution by our computer room. Fortunately, our room gives me the cool, literally. It makes up with its comfortable atmosphere and inviting spaces. Also, patience helped.
Moving on, I will work harder in my studies and in our activities. I'll try be a more active blogger so as to develop my writing skills. I'll try to get myself into the other uses of Internet and try not to focus on the games only.

Just me

I'm Joshua Daniel Vallente. Everyone calls me Joshua. Sometimes Josh. I was born in Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur but grew up in Batac, Ilocos Norte where I spent my early childhood years. Then, we moved back here again. Now, I'm living with my grandmother alone. My father is working in Hong Kong while mother is teaching in Sudan. I have two siblings who are both in Manila studying.

Since everyone is away I had already adapted myself to solidarity and simple living. I prefer being at home than outdoors. Here, I am not bored. I watch tv, do things on the computer like surfing, watching, reading, downloading, chatting, and other stuff which all fall on my hobby list. When tired of the big screens I revert my 2nd choice, texting. When at school, I also try to talk but nothing comes out of my mouth but pokemon and anime and all forms of insult and puns.
I like eating too. And my favorites are fruits and vegetables. I like strawberry the most. And everything strawberry flavored is tasty for me. I also like salads. And shanghai is a good snack for me. On some occasions, when I don't feel full after a meal, I feast on yogurt.

But there is a major exception to my rule of eating veggies and fruits. I don't like bitter melon and gumbo. When it comes to fruits, I don't like sugar apple and jack fruit. Also I don't like rice that much. And I don't like seafoods at all. So does with egg or any food with egg in it.

Sa Pangangalaga ng Wika at Kalikasan, Wagas na Pagmamahal, Talagang Kailangan

It's the month of August again. This month is also known as the "Buwan ng Wika". As a month filled with different activities concerned about the month's name, it serves as a reminder for us to give attention, love and respect for one of our national languages, the Filipino language.

It was Mr. Manuel Quezon who made the first move in unifying the thousand islands which were separated by great waters, lack of communication and transportation and by dialects differing from one place to another. With the nation setting foot on one language, the economy of the Philippines progressed faster than before. This helped a lot in the restoration of the land after the war. It did not just helped us, it even saved us. But nowadays, especially the new generation of Filipinos or the ones living in the new world, have nearly forgotten the importance of the Filipino language in our lives. They tend to choose foreign languages before our own which is not supposed to be. We must love and stand by it as a sign of our love also for our nation.

It's not yet too late for us to notice our mistakes and correct them. Remember that this is a piece of our home, where we live in ease with our healthy environment.
