Halloween's treats

Life sure is fun but living is a great task. That is why, at some points, we need a break. Every school year, almost all schools in town have their semestral break at the last week of the month of October. This is one of the most awaited happenings in school. Nothing beats a week-long vacation from frustrating school work, irritating schoolmates and boring classes.

“And finally, the long wait is over,” I told myself. I was so excited because sem break would mean anime galore; watch anime, download anime and read manga. I missed this kind of life. The first day of our sem break was hot, spiced by the heated tension of election. We went to the precinct early that day and stayed there until the results were up. Sadly, we lost. Not even a single one of our candidates won. But it was pretty OK because we fought fair and square.

The next days of the break were better since my brother came home from Manila and bought with him games, music and movies of all sorts. But soon the old daily routine bored me and I wanted some excitement to make things livelier. Life was easy as pie, but it was never sweet. I went to school and tried my luck to join the contestants of the first ever Twilight festival. And since I didn’t go to school the next day, so I was slashed out., much to my disappointment. Well I can't blame them anyway. Dancing was never a part of my system and I guess it'll never will be one.

Because of this, my rituals once again came back to life and continued until the first of November which also happened to be the last day of the break. We didn’t even thought of going to the cemetery that day, unlike the others who rushed and stayed there. But it is okay since the cemetery is close to our house that is why I can go there whenever I want to. That ends the fun and excitement. Once again, I prepared myself to face school, the prickliest thorn-flower but still the most aromatic.
