Filipinnovation: The way forward

If innovation is the mother of technology, we Filipinos are her sons and daughters. We are born with the natural gift of creativeness. Ideas come quickly into our minds and while at work, passion strikes our heart. But if we look closely to reality, we are a lagging nation when it comes to technology. Compared to what we can observe today, what is expected and can really be achieved by us is very far from satisfactory.

Talents are not given to be kept and hidden. They were given to us for us to enhance and sharpen. Such abilities would seem useless if not put into action. Developing skills need more attention and importance. the age of modern day technology has already arrived. A lot of inventions have already infected our daily lives like a virus in a computer. They are spreading quickly. But our nation is still at its way to its peak. We have to start now or we will be really left behind. With innovation, development will be in our hands.

But we have to remember that innovation, like water that gives life is also like fire. It destroys and kills. If they are not used properly and are abused, they can be harmful. And some of our problems right now are caused by them. The face of the earth was wiped clear by them. The earth is grieving and asking for help. It's not yet too late. We can still save the world. We can still save our nation.

Together, let's make our move. Let's save our world. Let's make innovations which can not only make our life better but also innovations which can make the earth a better place to live in.

My teacher, my hero

They say, we learn from experience. I say we also do from people. People were born to speak and to listen, to be a company to others, and to teach and to learn. Imagine if you were alone, discovering everything in your own. Wouldn't that be degrees harder than having someone help you explore the secrets of the world? In learning, we are filled with happiness, but none more so, than our great teachers.

In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn. That may be one of the living legacies of modern day teachers up to now. Such a hard thing to do, but still they cling on and continue to prosper and do what make they think will make big dreams out of small people. It is a big sacrifice. From the time early rays of sunshine flicker on the floor, to when the sky sets out its bright sunset colors, they teach. They stand and talk all day. And at the end of the day they can still keep that smile etched on their tired faces. But the duty doesn't end there. They also lead the students and setting out good examples to the whole school body. Outside the classroom, they can also be our friends. We can tell and share our thoughts and problems to them. And they surely won't fail anyone.

In whichever way we can, we have to thank them. Respect and love would do as our thank you gift. I owe them a lot and that debt will never leave my mind, for I am here right now, if not for their help, especially for my mother who is one of them.
