Kannawidan

The province of Ilocos Sur is a fine tourist spot in the north. And nowadays, it is really doing its best to develop its tourism. Just a week after the successful Longganisa festival which was held at the streets of the city of Vigan, it celebrated the young Kannawidan Ylocos Festival.

This festival is celebrated every January and lasts for a week. Even though it is still its 3rd year and new to the eyes of the Ilocanos, it attracted a bunch of people from different lands. As what I saw and experienced with my friends, it improved a lot as to last time we were there. The entrance of the trade street stood beside the Capitol and ran up to the entrance of the City Jail of Vigan. You heard it right. It’s a trade fair. Entrepreneurs from the different cities and municipalities of Region I and even those from Region II and CAR came to the place to showcase their talent and skills through their products. The variety of products which ranged from food to handicrafts made a collision and gave the place a different taste.

The said event just proved a person's creativity can earn him not only money but also benefits in the form of love and gratitude from people. And this skill is something we must develop and a gift we must be truly grateful of.
